DEFINITION OF POLYGRAPH 

Fear of deception will cause physiological changes to occur on, or within the body of the subject., at or near the point of deception. Those physiological changes can be diagnosed by a professional trained Forensic Psychophysiologist (Polygraph Examiner). An instrument that records continuously, visually, permanently and simultaneously, changes in cardiovascular, respiratory, electrodermal and or pulse patterns, as minimum instrument standards. It is used, or the results of which are used, for the rendering a diagnostic opinion regarding the indication of Deception (DI) or No Deception (NDI) of an individual. Polygraph examinations are admissible at the CCMA and in Court and is used as corroborative/supporting evidence in misconduct and or crime.
